Sunset Engagement
The other night, I had the pleasure of capturing a gorgeous engagement at sunset with the greatest couple! Breanne and Kyle are absolutely adorable! Seriously. They just radiate love for each other that you can feel in the air. They are both so down to earth and we pretty much laughed through their entire engagement session. I absolutely can’t wait to capture their big day next August!
How they met:
Kyle and I first met through mutual friends at a birthday party. Kyle got my number and after 2 weeks of Kyle’s persistence I finally agreed to go on a first date. I was in Grade 12 and Kyle had just graduated the year before. We hit it off right away! On February 14th, 2012 we made it official and have been together ever since.
Engagement Story:
In June 2016, we booked a last minute vacation to Mexico. It was our first vacation together, and Kyle’s first tropical vacation. On June 25th, our last day, we had booked a fancy dinner at the resort. As we were sitting by the pool, Kyle insisted we take photos on the dock in our formal wear. At this point I knew something was up, Kyle hates pictures. As we were heading downstairs to go to dinner, Kyle “forgot” the dinner tickets. Kyle went back to the room and it seemed to take a long time for him to find them. Turns out he had holes in all his pockets and couldn’t figure out where to put the ring!
We took a shuttle to the beach. When we got to the beach I saw the dock that he wanted to take pictures on. It was beautiful, decorated with candles along the sides, flower petals, music playing, and a waiter setting up the table. It was so romantic and I got suspicious that Kyle might propose. At that moment Kyle says “oh crap, looks like someone booked one of those romantic dinners. Let’s keep walking.” At first I thought he was kidding, but turns out we actually did have to go to a different dock! When we got there, there happened to be a lady with her children. Kyle gave her my phone and asked if she could take our picture at the end of the dock. We walked to the end of the dock and just when the lady was about to take the picture Kyle got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course said YES!!
