10 Wedding Reception Games
As Calgary wedding photographers we’ve seen many amazing wedding reception games over the years. As the wedding reception approaches, you may be wondering what games or activities you can plan to entertain your guests during the reception. Games are a great way to get everyone involved and having a great time! Here are 10 wedding games that you can consider for your reception:
1. Newlywed Game
This classic game is a great way to get to know the bride and groom better. Have the bride and groom sit on a stage and ask them questions about one another. Have the audience guess the answers to see how well the couple knows each other. 2. Wedding Bingo – This game is perfect for the entire wedding party. Give each guest a bingo card with words or phrases related to the wedding. As the bride and groom make their way around the reception, guests can mark off the corresponding words on their cards. The first person to get bingo is the winner.
3. Shoe Game
Have the bride and groom sit back to back and take off one shoe. Trade shoes and have them answer questions while holding their partner’s shoe. It’s a fun way to get to know the bride and groom better.
4. Wine Tasting
Wine tasting is a great way to get everyone involved in the festivities. Have a few different wines to choose from and have guests taste and guess which wine it is. The person with the most correct guesses wins.
5. Group Photo Scavenger Hunt
Divide your guests into teams and give them a list of items to find and take a picture with. The team that finds the most items and takes the most pictures wins.
6. Dance Off
Have all the guests form a large circle and pick two people to start the dance off. The two people will then dance off against each other and the audience will vote on who had the best moves. The winner will then pick the next two people to compete.
7. Ballroom Dancing
Ballroom dancing is a great way to get everyone involved. Have the bride and groom take dance lessons before the wedding and then perform a romantic dance at the reception.
8. Photo Booth
Photo booths are always a hit at receptions. Have a photo booth set up with fun props like hats, masks and fake mustaches so guests can take fun photos with their friends and family.
9. Karaoke
Hire a karaoke machine and have guests take turns belting out their favorite songs. You can even have a prize for the person who sings the best.
10. Cake Decorating
Have each guest decorate a cupcake with frosting, sprinkles, and other decorations. The guest with the most creative cupcake wins.
No matter what games you choose to play at your wedding reception, they are sure to be a hit with your guests. Games are a great way to get everyone involved and having a great time. Have fun and enjoy!
