Banff Tunnel Mountain Wedding
From the moment I met Caroline and Jordan you could absolutely feel the love they had for each other. They are two of the sweetest people I have ever had the privilege of working with. We are very excited to share their emotional, beautiful Banff Tunnel Mountain wedding day with you. But first, a little bit about their love story and wedding day!
How did you meet?
Our love story started like so many others in the 21st Century… thanks to the Internet! After a quick swipe to the right on Tinder, Jordan and I started chatting through the app. The very next day we met for a quick coffee downtown where we spent more time laughing than actually talking. We knew we had something special right from the beginning and the following 2 years validated that we were destined to be adventure partners for life!
Engagement story:
Jordan had planned a surprise weekend trip to the mountains for my birthday. When we were about to leave, he mentioned that he was not driving, which was confusing, and shortly after a limo pulled up in front of the house which was even more baffling. We ended up at the airport and boarded a plane to Vancouver Island!
The next day Jordan had planned for us to hike the East Sooke Coast Trail which is a 20 kilometer round-trip hike along the rugged coastline. After 4 hours of hiking we realized that we wouldn’t have time to complete the entire circuit, so we agreed to turn around sooner than planned. We took a short break at this beautiful look-out location. As I was setting up the camera for a picture, I turned around to see Jordan down on one knee. I honestly don’t remember what he said (neither does he), but I managed to say yes through all the tears!
The Wedding:
We both love spending time in the mountains, whether its rock climbing, camping, hiking, or trekking and wanted our wedding at Banff Tunnel Mountain to reflect this. We did a knot tying ceremony (with rock climbing rope of course) and our guest tables were named after some of the multi-day treks we have done as a couple. We even had a trail mix bar! Choosing the colors was probably one of the most difficult aspects of the planning for us. We both love grey and decided to use the flowers to bring a pop of color.
Jordan: My favorite moment was the ceremony and watching Caroline walk down the aisle (holding back the tears of course!). I also really enjoyed my brother Best Man’s speech – it was hilarious and so heartfelt.
Caroline: The entire wedding exceeded my expectations and it’s difficult to pick just one moment! I did really enjoy the speeches and the dancing afterwards. There was so much love in that room!
Our Favorite Wedding Details:
Flowers – We fully trusted our florist Willow Flowers, and we were so happy with the bouquets and centerpieces Kailee designed. Our venue/scenery. We knew we wanted to get married in Banff, and Tunnel mountain Buffalo Mountain Lodge was the perfect mix of rustic and chic! The dress! When I was shopping for a dress, I originally had in a mind a flowy bohemian look. That quickly changed when I tried on the Pronovias dress, and I am so happy I chose that one as I felt so elegant!
