Kananaskis Elopement Photographers Celia + Jeremy
Celia + Jeremy were such a fun couple! As you’ll see below, they had to cancel their wedding plans due to COVID-19, however this allowed us to have an extended wedding session in the mountains during their micro-wedding weekend. We had a beautiful session and were suddenly caught in the midst of a rainstorm! We shot on however and had a great time. The sun peeked through the clouds afterwards and it looked so heavenly.
Our beginning
We matched on Tinder in November of 2016. At the time Jeremy worked out of town, so we chatted everyday for a couple weeks before we got a chance to go on a date. We had drinks at Browns Social House for our first date. We had great conversation and Jeremy made me laugh with his witty sense of humour! We both knew we had stumbled upon something special.
Engagement
Well Jeremy being Jeremy, he never buys anything without doing all the research on it, that included an engagement ring. So little did I know he had been trying to get the perfect ring for months. He found a website that he could design the ring himself and even pick the exact diamond that goes in it. When the custom ring showed up he was so nervous that I was going to find it or that he was going to let it slip, so he said he had to propose right away. He suggested an impromptu trip to Jasper for the weekend, which is our favourite place to go. While in Jasper we make our way out to Maligne Lake. We are walking out on the frozen lake holding hands, laughing, and talking about what our future could bring. He let me walk ahead of him for a second and then I heard “so will you marry me?” I looked back in shock to see him on one knee holding this gorgeous ring! I was so surprised. Of course YES!
Wedding
Due to Covid we had to cancel our wedding. We were going to have a big wedding in Canmore in the mountains with all our families. Unfortunately, that was no longer possible. Postponing and re-scheduling was going to be at least 2 years to have a wedding and we didn’t want to wait that long. We just wanted to be married! We decided to go ahead with a small wedding in Grande Prairie, where we live. We got married in our church and had the reception at an AirBnB we rented that was beautiful and was able to house all 10 of our guests!
