Summer Wedding Rouge Restaurant Nicole Sarah
Raj and Sally, oh man what can I say! We met a couple of years ago over beers and I knew we would have SO much fun once their wedding day rolled around. I had an absolute blast spending their day with them and they truly remind me what I love most about being a wedding photographer. It’s such an honour to have couples trust me with their precious memories and it’s a bonus when you feel like you’ve made two awesome friends!
How they met!
Raj and Sally went to the same high school but never knew each other. During university, they crossed paths several times through mutual friends. Raj was interested, Sally was clueless. Months later, they finally “officially” met each other at a BBQ. They started to talk… Raj made fun of her feet, she laughed… and they clicked. A week later, on July 8, 2013, Raj asked Sally to be his girlfriend at a Denny’s restaurant (super classy!)
Engagement story:
On July 8, 2019 Raj and Sally went out for dinner to celebrate their six year anniversary. They decided to keep it simple and agreed to not do gifts, just dinner. But Raj was sneaky, and he had something planned. On their way home after dinner, they stopped at a park (this was the same park where Sally surprised Raj with a romantic gesture years ago, and where Raj said ‘I love you’ for the first time). Sally was confused about why they were at the park. With the help of some wonderful people, candles were arranged in the shape of a heart and Raj got down on one knee.
The Wedding Day!
We got married on July 8, 2021, our 8 year anniversary date. For our wedding, we decided on a modern rustic theme. We love spending time outdoors and sharing a connection with nature. Hence, Rouge was the perfect venue for us. It offered a cozy backyard feel while making us feel like we were in a wonderland with its whimsical trees and garden. We had around 50 guests and we felt incredibly blessed to have been able to celebrate our special day with our closest family and friends. It has been a difficult year and our wedding was the first event since the pandemic in which we were able to have all of our loved ones gather together
Sally’s top moment was walking down the aisle. Raj’s top moment was seeing Sally walk down the aisle. Oh, and the food was phenomenal too!
Another side top moment: Nicole LITERALLY saving the day with Tide To-Go during bridal prep photos. Your ability to respond calmly and offer an immediate solution was incredible. THANK YOU! –(Anytime 😉 )
- Wedding song: Kodaline – The One
- Honeymoon: Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper – ate SO MUCH food, hiked, kayaked (Raj fell in the lake because he was trying to be a show-off), and finally got to relax
- Having Nicole take our photos was so much fun –(awe thanks guys!)
