Best Tips for Romantic Candid Wedding Photos
Welcome to our post about the best tips for romantic candid wedding photos. Weddings come with enough things to stress over, guest lists, venues, flowers (in-laws??), the list goes on. Don’t let wanting the perfect romantic wedding photographs on your big day add to the pile. Read on for our best tips to get the candid romantic photos you’ve been dreaming of.
Our biggest suggestion for those natural, romantic, and candid wedding photos is to get comfortable with your photographer first. You have enough to think about on your wedding day you want to be able to trust the person you’re spending arguably the most time with! One way to achieve this is to book engagement photos with us, it helps to try out a few different techniques, see what your preferences are, and get comfortable with one another.
Trust us for romantic photos
Once you trust your photographer you can lean into the moment and enjoy yourself. Achieving candid, romantic wedding photos relies on couples feeling calm and confident with their photographer!
Still worried? Here is our shortlist of tips for what not to do:
- Try to avoid a lot of messy kisses and opening your eyes. Soft eyes and kisses make for the most romantic and candid photos you’ll want to frame.
- Don’t rush – slow down and enjoy the moment. That’s how we get those candid photos. Don’t let your mind run to the next location or next item on the schedule. You only live this day once, soak in your partner and enjoy this (almost) one on one time on your big day (also keep this in mind with your bridal party). You want to feel romantic. Living in the moment will allow us to capture these candid moments.
- Another tip: if you know you’ll be focusing on one thing like your arms or a height difference, tell us! Let us take that stress on for you so you can relax knowing we’ll get the best angles – we’ve got it covered. If you communicate with us, it’ll be much easier for you to relax so we can capture beautiful candid moments.
A lot of couples find they don’t actually get a lot of romantic one on one time with each other on their wedding day. Use your photos as a time to connect, laugh, kiss, remember why you’re here in the first place (just forget about us over here behind the lens!). This is the prime way to achieve candid and romantic moments. Still, having trouble calming those nerves? Come up with a couple of triggers for each other beforehand, a whispered inside joke, maybe a little butt squeeze! We’re not judging! The best way to get the photos you’re looking for is to be relaxed and relishing the moment. Know you can put your trust in us, we’ve been doing this for over a decade and we have some special tricks up our sleeves.
