Calgary Golf and Country Club Wedding

 

As Calgary wedding photographers we love Golf and Country Club weddings. The Calgary Golf and Country Club is an absolutely stunning venue for a wedding. Chelsey and Trevor’s day was so intimate and romantic and the whole day was simply perfect. (Okay, it rained a little but that’s good luck!). Chelsey + Trevor had contacted me last year, and as it turns out Chelsey and I had both taken the education program together at the University of Calgary. After swapping some fun stories about teaching, our university experience and learning more about each other we clicked. As friends and family reading this will know, Chelsey has an incredibly kind and sweet personality and it’s no wonder that she’s so successful as a teacher! After I learned Trevor was an engineer (as is my husband) I immediately knew he would have a sense of humor and a love of beer (and fireball – which happened to make an appearance at our engagement session! It was -30 after all…) They are such a wonderful, sweet couple that compliment each other perfectly. It was a pure joy to capture this special journey for them.

 

A little back story:

Trevor and Chelsey met in July 2013 at a surprise birthday party. That night they chatted, attempted to two-step and exchanged numbers so they could set up a date. Trevor and Chelsey went on their first date less than a week later! They went to Cibo where they talked for hours while eating pizza and drinking wine. They went on several dates after that and by the end of August they were officially a couple!

 

Engagement story:

On November 14, 2015, Chelsey came home from a day of shopping to find Trevor cooking a delicious dinner which included two of her favorite things – steak and shrimp! Trevor had also decorated the house with candles and flowers. He had a charcuterie plate and wine ready for them to enjoy. Chelsey suggested they play crib, so she got up to get the crib board. When she turned around Trevor was down on one knee with a ring box in his hand!! Of course, Chelsey said YES! They celebrated with Prosecco and were so excited to share the news with their families and friends!

 

From Chelsey:

 

There were so many amazing moments throughout our wedding, so it was hard to choose! One of our top moments was the ceremony because we were both so excited to finally see each other and become husband and wife. We also really enjoyed taking photos because we got to spend quality time with each other. The speeches were another top moment because we loved listening to our families share their stories about us and they made us laugh. Last but not least, our first dance was another moment from the wedding day that we will never forget. We loved the song, being together and had fun dancing!

Our first dance song was “From the Ground Up” by Dan & Shay. We both love country music and thought this song expressed our love for each other and how we want that love to continue to grow for years to come.

Favorite Wedding Details:

Bride’s dress and shoes. The dress because it fit so well and really suited our venue and wedding theme. The shoes because they incorporated the bride’s maiden name – Badgley.

The flowers because they were so beautiful and really added to our venue.

Our guestbook, which was the wooden bench, because it was unique and it is something we will use in our home for many years.

 

Advice for other couples:

Our advice for other couples for the wedding day is to live in the moment. Enjoy every minute – spend time with family and friends, savor the delicious food, listen and laugh during the speeches, drink wine, dance and most of all, have fun! Also, don’t forget to kiss each other every chance you get, but we didn’t find this difficult to do!
