Fairmont Palliser and Cilantro Wedding
We love downtown Calgary weddings. Shannon and Russell are such a sweet couple that compliment each other so well! Their wedding day was an absolute blast from start to finish. They were surrounded by their closest family and friends for their getting ready photos at the Fairmont Palliser and then at Cilantro for a cocktail style reception. It’s such a beautiful venue and was so lovely and intimate. I had so much fun laughing with these love birds and I hope you love this sneak peek into their day. The Wedding Day:
It was a beautiful summer day, sunny with just the right amount of warm. We started off at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel in downtown Calgary, where we had our first look in front of the hotel. That was one of the special moments for us. Even on a busy street it felt like just the two of us for that initial moment!
We then made our way to Prince’s Island Park for some more photos. We had a blast with the wedding party, walking through one of Calgary’s most beautiful parks all dressed up.
Next stop, our reception at Cilantro, a charming little restaurant on 17th Ave, with the perfect summer patio. The patio, with its romantically lit-up trees is where we had our first dance to “Your Song” by Elton John, a favourite of ours. We laughed singing along to each other, while trying not to get tangled up in my dress!
It was truly a surreal feeling to have so many of the people that we love and cherish there to celebrate our union. We wanted our reception to feel relaxed and jovial, with a romantic ambiance that symbolized the celebration of love.
