Regal Burgundy Wedding – Calgary Wedding Photographers Nicole Sarah
Deb and Ife’s Regal Burgundy Wedding in Calgary was hands down one of my most memorable weddings this past year. Every detail was so thoughtful and beautiful!
Deborah and Ife’s wedding planner, Melissa Dawn shared her thoughts on their wedding day:

How They Met
One fall day Amazon gave Ife discounts and suggestions for e-books online. Not one to pass up a sale and a promotion, Ife bought a book of poetry. After reading the book he thought he’d reach out to the author with a review comprising of some notes, some words of encouragement and appreciation. Somehow the author replied. The author was Deborah. It turned out Deborah lived in Calgary, and the two met to add to their chat in person. The two discussed her foray into writing, her inspirations, music and much more over coffee. The rest is history.
Engagement Story
Ife wanted to get Deb a pair of trendy sneakers and insisted that she do an unboxing and review that could be published on YouTube. Deb was reluctant to do the review or film the video, but she eventually agreed. Little did Deb know, the filming and review was a ploy to propose. As Deborah filmed the video the engagement ring was tied to the shoelace of one of the sneakers. Ife then asked Deb to marry him and was able to get the whole thing on video.
The Wedding Day
Our wedding colours were burgundy with gold, blush, and mauve accents. We went in this direction because it felt both regal and classic, would be flattering colours for our wedding party to wear, and Deb just adores warm tones overall. We had a total of 150 guests, which was difficult to pull off because we both come from huge Nigerian families. Our top moments were definitely the choir that performed at the ceremony, they absolutely blew us away! It was also hilarious that our first dance was interrupted by everyone rushing onto the dance floor. Our first dance song was Carry You by The Teskey Brothers. Ife’s sister made customized labels for the wine bottles and sparkling drinks on every guest table, which made for such beautiful detail. We went to Barbados for our honeymoon and it was hands down the most relaxing vacation either of us has ever had!
