Sirocco Golf Club Wedding
As Calgary wedding photographers, we love golf club weddings! Sarah and Tyler were joined by 100 of their closest friends and family at the Sirocco Golf Club, in the beautiful foothills of Alberta for their stunning September wedding. Their day was full of beautiful personal details, and it was such a joy to capture their love! Read more from Sarah and Tyler below!
How did you meet?
Tyler and I met at Ranchmans! My best friend (Carley – Maid of Honour) had met Tyler’s cousin Logan (Groomsman) at a bar one night and had invited him out for her birthday a couple days later. Logan brought Ty along to Ranchmans and we met on the dance floor!
Engagement story:
I had always dreamed of going to Nashville TN, so we planned a trip there! Ty had gone to Calgary a couple weeks prior for work and had asked my family for dinner – where he asked for my hand in marriage. My whole family knew this proposal was going down on our trip – I was so surprised they kept it a secret for so long. We landed in Nashville, drove to our hotel (Opryland hotel) dropped off our bags and decided to go for supper at one of the cool restaurants. We walked around the hotel which had so many cute boutiques and shops. We came to this cool indoor waterfall where I tried to bend over the railing and touch the water… I felt a tap on my bum, turned around Tyler was on one knee and asked me to marry him!
Favorite Wedding Moments:
Sarah: My top wedding moment was getting to Ty at the end of the isle, and just being so excited for this to be happening! I loved hearing his vows, and I loved hearing all the speeches.
Tyler: What she said!
We both loved being there with all of our friends and family – it was so overwhelming all the love we felt that day.
Our isle song “There’s This Thing About Her” by Chris Young was chosen by Tyler. We do a lot of driving back and forth from Lethbridge (home) to Calgary. One day we were driving and he put that song on and said “I could see you walking down the isle to this song”. I had a different song in mind, but once he said that I quickly realized that this had to be the song.
Favorite Wedding Details:
Our unique spin on a cake! Tyler isn’t a huge fan of desserts, but we both love cinnamon buns. So it was an easy (and cheap!) alternative to a wedding cake. Flowers – I had an idea I saw on Pinterest. I showed my sister and she nailed it perfectly. I loved how simple the bridesmaids bouquets were, and the centerpieces. We got so many compliments. It was just what I had envisioned but better. Our commisionar, Maureen Roberts. Maureen is a family friend of Tyler’s- she grew up with members of his family. We had such a great time meeting with her in the days and months before the wedding. We felt so relaxed going into the wedding day because we had complete trust in her. We just loved the ceremony and all the little surprises! The good luck horse shoe from my aunt was an incredibly heart warming surprise! We felt like Maureen totally captured us as a couple and we hope that our guests felt the same.
