I just had the most amazing experience capturing a surprise proposal at Lake Minnewanka. As a Calgary wedding photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of proposals, but this one was something really special.
As I waited by the lake, I saw the nervous groom-to-be anxiously arriving. It was obvious how much this moment meant to him, and I felt my heart flutter a little as well.
Finally, they arrived and he asked if I could take their photo by the lake. I could see the surprise and excitement written all over her face as he led her towards the spot he had chosen for the proposal. It was such a romantic location, with the mountains in the background and the calm waters of the lake reflecting the beautiful scenery.
As they stood together, the groom knelt down on one knee, holding out a small jewelry box hand made by the bride’s dad. I captured the moment as she realized what was happening, and the pure joy and emotion on her face was a sight to behold.
It was such an intimate moment, and I felt so honoured to be a part of it all. I love being able to capture these timeless, candid moments for couples, and helping them create memories that will last a lifetime.
Overall, it was an incredible experience, and it reminded me of why I love being a photographer. Moments like these are what make me so passionate about what I do, and I can’t wait to be a part of many more surprise proposals in the future.
