Fairmont Banff Springs Wedding
The Fairmont Banff Springs was the perfect location for Katie + Curtis’ intimate wedding day. We love shooting weddings at Fairmont hotels! From the moment we met for coffee we instantly clicked and I knew that their day was going to be so full of love and life that the intimacy of their day would be perfectly accompanied by the picturesque backdrop. The Fairmont Banff Springs and surrounding mountains glow with romance and are really all you need for a stunning day!
From Katie:
Curt and I met through work. We work for separate companies that work together, so it’s almost guaranteed that we will be talking to each other throughout our work days!
Curt had planned a surprise trip to Banff for us. I didn’t know where we were going or what we were going to do. Horses have been a large part of my life, so Curt had planned horse drawn sleigh under the stars. At the end of the ride he finally popped the question!
The Wedding Day:
Our wedding colours were ivory, light pink and gold. Our theme was simply romantic and intimate. Which it was!
Curt: My top wedding moment was the moment I laid my eyes on my beautiful bride during our first look. She was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!
Katie: My top wedding moment was after the ceremony when Curt and I were having our photos done. We were more relaxed and it was just the two of us (And Nicole!).
Our isle song was an instrumental version of the song “A thousand years” by The Piano Guys. The first time we heard the song it just clicked for the both of us that it would be the song that I would walk down the isle to.
Favorite Wedding Details:
Our Wedding Cake – My sister made our wedding cake. It was so beautifully done and it tasted amazing! Having it made by my sister made it so special!! We had Curt’s boutonniere special ordered as it was not your average boutonniere. It was a fly that would be used in fly fishing and since Curt is an avid fly fisherman it suited him perfectly! My dress was beautiful. I loved the details with the lace and the buttons all the way down the back.
Advice for other couples: Do what works for you. There is always a lot of pressure to do things a certain way when it comes to weddings. But make sure you do things the way the two of you want.
