Getting Ready Wedding Photography Ideas
When I am asked about which images I love most from a wedding day it is so hard to choose – but if I had to it pick it would be the getting ready portion of the day!
The anticipation and excitement in the air on the morning of the wedding is palpable. There is something so wonderful and candid about getting to share in the buildup and excitement of the morning – watching every little piece come together with both the gentlemen and the ladies separately. The fine details, tender moments, and beauty of the day are a building crescendo that culminate in the excitement of two becoming one.
Those moments leading up to the ceremony when you are getting ready are filled with things to remember. I encourage all couples to build time into their day (if only just a little) to have their preparation photographed. When looking at your images after the day, you will be transported back as you will be able to relive your wedding day fully, with every little detail from start to finish. If you are wondering about how to build your timeline around this to include coverage for your photographer, consider allocating approximately 20 – 30 minutes for the gentlemen, and approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour for the ladies. This depends on the number of details you have and how many people are in your bridal party.
Here I have gone ahead and compiled my favorite getting ready moments to photograph. Sit back, relax and pin away on Pinterest to remember for later!
