How they met:

We met through my sister Megan..she was dating Chad’s good family friend and they thought we just had to meet:)

Engagement story:

We got engaged a year ago in Hawaii. Chad had planned on asking me on the beach but of course it was the only day that week that rained. We went back to our hotel and went to the very quiet adult pool on the rooftop of the hotel overlooking the harbour. Chad ‘excused’ himself up to the room where I stayed by the pool. He was rushing trying to get champagne up to the room, all the while I had fallen asleep on a lounge chair face down. Who knows how long I had been sleeping, but he woke me up to him kneeling with the ring in his hand in front of me. When he asked me to marry him all I could ask between happy tears was ‘are you serious?’ Then the nap finally wore off and it actually set in that we were getting married after 6 years of dating and I was the happiest girl ever:)

The Wedding Day!:

Our wedding day was the BEST DAY. We were surrounded by amazing family and friends that all came to celebrate with us. I’m glad Nicole suggested doing a first look because I was so nervous until I saw Chad and that got a few tears and nerves out before the ceremony. Our wedding was in a barn that was gorgeous on its own so just needed a few details that really made it beautiful. The florals were mostly greenery that draped the tables and the archway that was made by Chad and his dad from trees from the family cabin. We wanted really simplistic and a few rustic details with just candles and a few wooden accents with string lights in the ceiling that twinkled above the dance floor. We really wanted a relaxed casual gathering from the quick and simple ceremony straight into the cocktail hour and then the dinner/party. We had just under 100 of our closest family and friends that danced and partied with us into the night- most stayed until the very end. Our first dance was ‘northern wind’ by City and Colour because we love that album and listened to it over and over when we were newly dating. It was a really surreal moment when it kind of started to sink in for the both of us. The day had just an amazing feel and everything went flawlessly, we wouldn’t change a thing! We returned to Hawaii for our honeymoon for some well needed rest to the same spot we got engaged a year ago.
