Nikka Japanese Garden Wedding

This wedding at the Nikka Japanese Garden is so stunning. We love capturing beautiful weddings in Calgary and Vancouver, however this Lethbridge location is so pretty. Trisha and JB are such a lovely couple. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard during an engagement session!  You can tell their entire group of family and friends is just as fun loving as they are. They truly danced the entire night away surrounded by love.

How They Met

We were introduced by our common friend. I have a friend named Kazel and we both live in Winnipeg. Kazel is JB’s classmate in the Philippines. When we went to Edmonton for a trip, he introduced JB to me. From there we became friends on facebook but I was the one that made the first move lol. I am the one that initiated our first conversation.

Engagement Story

We went to a cabin with our friends for friends-giving. It was October 8-10. He proposed the night of October 8 when we’re about to start our dinner. He made an announcement  but my friends already knew and they were in cahoots with my husband.

The funny part is I already saw the ring beforehand but I didn’t know when he’ll propose. I found it when I was checking his backpack and felt a box in it lol. He’s not good at hiding things ????. I didn’t tell him that I saw the ring before he proposed. I told him after lol.

The Wedding Day

Our colours are white and shades of dusty rose. I mainly chose it because I like the colour pink! We had around 60-65 guests and the song that we used for our first dance is flightless bird. When I heard that song in Twilight, I thought it was a perfect slow dance song.

My top moment is when we did the bouquet toss. We did it in a diff way where we used ribbons attached to the bouquet and then all single ladies will pull them. Only 1 ribbon is attached to the bouquet. That way everyone will participate. Because I knew if I threw the bouquet, no one would have caught it!

My favourite detail was  my shoes (Roger Vivier). When I saw the shoes in a Korean tv show, I told myself that I want to wear that same shoes in my wedding. For our honeymoon, we went to Hawaii (Oahu Island).
