Heritage Park Wedding

 

Shannon + William’s wedding was held at the beautiful Heritage Park in Calgary. I absolutely love capturing weddings at Heritage Park as the scenery offers so many options and it makes for such an easy day for the bride and groom. There are truly so many beautiful wedding locations in Calgary! The day started out as overcast which lent well to our photo session, until those spring showers started! Thankfully, many guests brought umbrellas and huddled together for the romantic vows.

From the Bride and Groom:

Will and I met five years ago at work when I internally transferred offices.  We were working on the same team doing different jobs.  Our story is pretty simple. Boy liked girl. Boy asked girl out and that was the start of our spending time together and then we became inseparable!

On a trip to Greece last year, Will popped the question while we were touring a historical site. We were at the Poseidon temple on the southern tip of Greece. During the time given to wander around the site, Will chose the location where he would ask the question. He started to set out little paper hearts and got down on one knee. He asked the question and I said yes!

 

Our favorite moments:

It started raining just before the ceremony and we went ahead with the ceremony anyways – we stood under some umbrellas! Dinnertime while sitting at our sweetheart table and focusing on us while seeing everyone enjoying the dinner was very special. Lastly, seeing each other before the ceremony and then heading to the venue for official photographs was very special.

 

Our favorite details:

 

All the flowers provided by the florist (the bouquets, boutonnières, centerpieces, and sweetheart table) were perfectly arranged and extremely beautiful! We loved our attire.  The wedding dress was a ball gown that was perfectly suited for the formally white bow tie William wore (and was fun to dance in). The historic venues, that were booked for the outdoor ceremony and the indoor reception, lent themselves to creating a beautiful wedding day.
