Calgary Summer Engagement Brittani + David

I love summer engagement sessions! Brittani and David met in 2011 at Mount Royal University during the 3rd year of their Criminal Justice undergrad. They had several classes together and got to know each other on joint projects. They found they worked well together, until David started his practicum project under the direction of one of their professors. Brittani offered to help but neglected to tell David that her time management skills and attention to detail were seriously lacking. On an important set-up day, the day before David was to launch his practicum project to a community in Calgary, Brittani was late (which might seem obvious for some), and went to the wrong location (also obvious for some). This miscommunication caused serious frustrations between David & Brittani, and for the next year or so they rarely spoke to one another.

However, by November 2013, David had become painfully aware of the crush he’d developed on Brittani, especially during the time they weren’t talking, and so invited her to his 23rd birthday. Even though they hadn’t really spoken since the practicum project mishap, Brittani thought that David couldn’t still be mad at her, and decided it would be nice to see an old friend from University, which was, in truth, very unusual for Brittani’s shy character. But she had a strong inkling that she should go, and it was a good thing she did because Brittani and David rekindled their friendship, soon to share their first kiss which set the stage for their future romance! And so they began dating in December of 2013!

They moved in together in June of 2014, graduating from Mount Royal University in the same month. They’ve since shared many adventures, including visiting Las Vegas, both for the first time, in May 2018. Las Vegas soon became their favourite destination and in September 2019 David proposed to Brittani in a romantic, secluded courtyard outside Caesar’s Palace. A month later they bought their first house together, closing out an eventful 2019! Now looking to their future together, they are ecstatic to celebrate their commitment to each other with friends and family on July 31, 2021!
