Calgary Vintage Woodland Wedding
Laura and Kyle contacted me last year and told me they were having a Calgary vintage wedding, and that they were looking for a Calgary wedding photographer that fit their personalities. At this point, I was already excited! I had learned that one of our lovely mutual friends had put them into contact with me and when they wanted to forgo coffee to chow down at Clive Burger for our client meeting, I knew that we were going to get along really well!
In between bites of amazing poutine (seriously, it’s to die for there!) and laughing – we got to know each other a little better and instantly clicked. Laura and Kyle have an adorable, fun sense of humor. Although Laura is seemingly demure and quiet, don’t be fooled! These two have a deep bond and know how to make each other laugh perfectly. In their wedding vows, both Laura and Kyle made each other, and the audience reel with laughter throughout. Their relationship reminds me quite a bit of my own, and their vows, complete with a card from Laura that proclaimed Kyle as “her lobster” actually made me tear up. At the end of the ceremony, they exchanged fabulous rings from Troy Jewellers to compliment Laura’s custom engagement ring from People’s Jewellers.
Their ceremony was held in Fish Creek Park at Hull’s Wood. I adore this venue. It is partly camp, very rustic and enveloped by beautiful mature trees. They had absolutely beautiful pastel florals and a stunning chuppah made by Laura herself who owns Birch & Bunny – a fabulous decor and planning company. The remainder of our photography experience was balanced with by a visit to the Hudson’s Bay Company on Stephen’s Avenue. It was absolutely lovely to see how happy the whole wedding party was while Calgarians walked past and cheered them on!
The wedding reception was held at the Carriage House Inn in South Calgary. The room was absolutely divine and sparkling with beauty. The beautiful lighting and crown molding accented all of Laura and Kyle’s vintage decor making for beautiful event photography.
Laura and Kyle are an amazing, uplifting and fun couple. It was truly an honour to be their wedding photographer.
