James Allen Review
Every once an a while I come across a company that I’d like to review. James Allen is next! Since many of my clients are in the process of either buying or upgrading their jewelry or looking for their wedding bands, I thought I would give a little insight into a company I have personally dealt with.
In August of 2014 I became engaged. My ring is from James Allen and I could not be happier! That isn’t to say we didn’t have a couple of snags. (But don’t worry, it only highlights how amazing they are in the end!)
James Allen offers an impressive, real time collection of all of their bands and diamonds. Unlike other websites, you are able to view in 360 degrees the exact diamond you are interested in purchasing, and compare that diamond to others for cut, clarity, carat, and color. Isn’t that amazing! Two diamonds could be very similar in their specifications, but can still have differences. This is where seeing the actual diamond up close (closer than at the local jeweller in fact!) comes in really handy.
The actual diamond you are seeing is the actual diamond you will receive. Period. Now here is where a snag happened for me. Like other companies, James Allen can make a mistake. Very rarely do they happen – but as it turns out, my diamond hadn’t been removed from their website after being purchased by someone else. It was a very rare mistake, a computer glitch. So what did they do? Give us a better diamond, for the same price to make up for their error. All along the way with impeccable communication and customer service.
We’ve gone on to purchase both of my bands from there as well. The warranty they offer is amazing, and you also receive re-plating for the lifetime of your jewelry. You heard that right.
The process is so simple and comfortable. There’s no worry about going to a mall and being seen! Everything can be done from the comfort of your living room couch!
The shipping methods are extremely fast. After ordering my rings they all came within a couple of days. The purchase process is extremely safe. You also receive 10% of the purchase of your band after you’ve bought your engagement ring from them.
Additionally, should you choose to upgrade your diamond or your ring at any point, they offer 100% of the price of your previous diamond towards a new, larger diamond. Isn’t that a sweet and sparkly deal!? They will make you a new custom ring and help you all along the way.
On top of all of this, they also have a 24/7 customer chat. Now, I know what you are thinking. You’ve used those before and the employees haven’t been really knowledgeable. Not so with James Allen! They are always happy to help you, chat with you and are so kind. They help you navigate the process and will answer the million questions you have perfectly.
What you see is what you get, and the prices are significantly better than going through a jewelry store at your local mall, where the salesperson is generally more interested in commission, and the diamonds and gemstones are of lesser quality.
