Rocky Mountain Soap Company Review
As a wedding photographer I often have clients asking me what they should use in their favors or gift bags. I always love to recommend Rocky Mountain Soap Company for personal reasons, and here’s why.
In 2009 I had a tumor the size of a grapefruit removed from my right ovary. It was benign but it was terrifying. The whole ordeal prompted me to do a lot of research about what we consume and put on our bodies, and how that can effect our lives.
Growing up I always tried the latest makeup or product. If it was cheap and did the trick, I bought it. But something started to happen. I began to experience the effects of too – high estrogen levels, which is what I think caused that tumor to grow fast and uncontrollably. Additionally, the other symptoms I felt were emotional and physical. I couldn’t think clearly. My hair was dull, my skin had problems, digestive issues, irregular cycles, you name it.
Chemicals are put into almost every single product you see on the grocery store shelves. Petroleum Jelly, Mineral Oil…petroleum byproducts. There are so many needless chemicals put into things that we slather on our bodies (and our children’s!) that are cheap for the companies to use, but absolutely horrible for your health and needless. Many of these chemicals can in fact, mimic estrogens and are also terrible for the environment when you pour them down the drain.
Let’s get back to the basics. Doesn’t that make more sense? Use what the earth freely offers to us.
Back to my story.
I found out about a little company called Rocky Mountain Soap when I was in TD mall in downtown Calgary. I got chatting with the sales lady.
I. bought. everything. EVERYTHING! The smell of the store was intoxicating. I switched myself to all natural products and committed to this change. I told myself I could check my estrogen levels each year. Amazing things started to happen my eczema – greatly reduced. This was fantastic as the steroid creams doctor’s had prescribed since childhood caused rosacea. My hair grew quickly. My face was glowing and soft. I could sleep at night. My anxiety was gone. My symptoms started to fade. It took a long time, but it worked!
I had my estrogen levels checked at the one and two year marks. They were normal. I haven’t had any symptoms since. As parents we want to give our children the best head start. We feed them wholesome food, take care of them, yet we slather their bodies in chemicals and continue to do so into adulthood. Why is this necessary? Let’s make the change towards a healthier us, and healthier environment.
Not only do I wholeheartedly recommend all of Rocky Mountain Soap’s products for your beauty regime and health, I recommend giving them to everyone you know! You can order custom monogrammed soaps for your wedding guests as favors. I also recommend purchasing their items individually and putting them into gift bags for your guests and bridal party. There is a men’s line and plenty of woodsy, manly smelling products that men will enjoy too. They will absolutely love it!
They have quite literally changed my life and I hope they will change yours too.
Here are some specific products I recommend in addition to their baby and men’s products:
Fruit Smoothie Soap. Smells so divine, as with all of their soaps! Perfect when you are dreaming of spring.
Natural Perfumes. Pink Lotus is my choice for a floral, sweet, calming scent. Synthetic perfumes are dangerous and full of chemicals. None of that with Rocky Mountain Soap!
My hair is so healthy now! Vanilla coconut is my favorite and since using this shampoo line since it came out, my hair breakage has slowed greatly. As a blonde, my hair breaks quite easily, but this duo has fortified it. My hair LOVES the coconut oil!
Body Butter FOR THE WIN! I love every single butter from Rocky Mountain Soap. Though I do miss my favourite, discontinued butter (Grapefruit) they are always concocting new lovely scents that I am head over heels in love with. Soft, supple skin, easy to take anywhere you go, and recyclable materials. Yummm!
I hope you enjoy their products as much as I have! Happy Planning!
